  6. *All those who are new to the FYE Univ. 100 or Y courses will have training (choice of the following dates): Tuesday, April 7th from 2-3pm (Multicultural Center) OR Wednesday April 8th 12-1pm (Multicultural Center)
  7. **All FYE Univ. 100 or Y instructors (new and returning) will have training (choice of the following dates): Thursday, April 9th from 1-3:30pm (Lincoln Room/Fox Room) OR Friday, April 10th from 8:30-11am (Lincoln/Fox Room)

  13. Looking for mentors. Ideally Karolynn would like to get 300 volunteers. New BC training for mentors.
  14. Attitude of FYE program
  15. How can we continue to work together to promote FYE (testimonials, news releases, quotes, spotlights)
  16. How do we motivate people to teach Univ. 100 as well knowing that there were disappointments about the students?
  17. Ideas: Get students out of the classroom, Have U100 Instructors at Move-In Day, Each floor at move-in have a U100 or FYE instructor present to welcome parents, buttons for FYE folks “Ask Me For Help, Have a ?, Ask Me, FYE Shirt, 5-10 item list describing what FYE is and distribute those (or perhaps it could be the benefits), New Employee Orientation (can we have a table), Increase enthusiasm & maintaining it throughout

  19. In Spring, have a Tips & Tricks for teaching Y
  20. In Spring, have a support group, colleague conversations, resources for Univ. 100 & Y
  21. Returning Univ. 100 instructors, do they need to go through same application process? Leadership Committee will need to continue to explore.

2.Update on Peer Mentors (Schara)

a.PM Matching—this began this week on Wed. and Friday. Emails will be sent to instructors and peer mentors over the weekend or early next week.

b.Dates for Fall Peer Mentor Training

  1. Thursday, August 20th1-3pm (Lincoln Room)
  2. Friday, August 21st 1-3pm (Lincoln Room)
  3. Saturday, August 22nd 3-5pm (Sandburg Lounge)
  4. Sunday, August 23rd 10am-12pm (Sandburg Lounge)

B.New Topics:

1.Syllabus for 2015-2016 (weekly schedule)

a.At Leadership Committee, a few suggestions were made:

  1. Delete mock election sentence under course requirements but bold it in the attendance policy.
  2. Week 12: Delete Academic Integrity and move to Week
  3. Suggestion from Jane: include some language about tutoring places (and phone number) for fall. Will send me the info.

2.Application updates

a.FYE Selection Committee met on the 23rd and began approving/denying applications.

b.If you log into STARS you can see the tentative list of times people are teaching. More instructors have been turning in applications so expect to see changes

3.Final Exam (please see the suggested final exam for 2015-2016 academic year)

a.Committee approved the final exam with a few minor grammatical changes.
