WASHINGTON’S RATED PERCENTAGE INDEX (RPI)

COMMITTEE NOMINATION FORM

PURPOSE: The WIAA Executive Board approved that a Rated Percentage Index (RPI) will be utilized for basketball beginning with the 2016-17 season. The RPI will potentially be utilized for all other team sports during the 2017-18 school year. The purpose of the RPI Committee will be to review the adopted basketball formula, its parameters, and displays; determine if formula adjustments in basketball will be needed for the future years; and to determine if formula adjustments will be needed for the other team sports.

TERM: The term for committee members will be one year with the possibility of renewal/return.

SELECTION: The WIAA Executive Board will determine the makeup of the committee and make the final section of committee members. Diversity of membership will be taken into consideration.

COMMITTEE MEETINGS: The committee may meet once per year at the WIAA office, with subsequent communication via phone or email throughout the year.
