It is his/her responsibility to learn, obtain, and complete the work missed. Students are allowed one day for each day of absence plus one additional day to make up work missed during excused absences.

Tutoring– Tutoring will be offered after school on Monday in room 2526 from 2:30 p.m. until 3;30 p.m. Students must come prepared with questions in order to receive extra help.

Phones: Students may NOT have phones OUT during class unless otherwise directed by the teacher. If a student has a phone out during a graded assignment it will be considered cheating.

Tests: There will be 9 unit tests during the semester. Each test may contain comprehensive questions from previous units or questions used to pretest student knowledge for upcoming units.

Test Corrections: For each unit test you will be allowed to complete test corrections. You will receive 1 bonus point added to your final exam grade for each test correction you complete (10 points total). All Test Corrections will be done in class on the same day graded tests are handed back to the students. In the event of an absence the student must attend the next tutorial day to receive credit consideration

Quizzes/Skill Checks: Throughout the semester I will assess what students have learned. Quizzes may be 10-15 questions while skill checks are usually on 2-5 questions.

Student Incentive: At the end of the semester students with greater than an 80% homework completion will be allowed to replace their lowest test grade with the final exam.

Homework: Homework may be checked daily.

Discipline – All students are expected to follow the rules set forth in the student handbook. In the event of disciplinary infractions, the following steps will be taken to correct the behaviors:

  1. Warning, student/teacher conference 2. Phone call to parent 3. Teacher detention (and phone call or email to parent) 4. Parent conference 5. Referral to administrator

In the event of a serious infraction student may receive a referral without the 4 step process as per student handbook.
