Commissioning /finance officer

Job description

The role includes monitoring and management of the company finances, banking and payments. This will include maintaining accurate records of all transactions using Sage, Microsoft office and the agency data collection system.

Communicating with customers as necessary, manage credit control, maintaining the purchase and sales ledgers. The overall management of the Companies accounts and payroll.

The role will include all aspects of commissioning including monitoring and identifying potential contract opportunities, completing and submitting contract tendering, pricing, negotiation with external and internal colleagues and services, contract compliance and building working relationships with our service stakeholders.

The description includes –

  • To invoice as required
  • Financial management and credit control
  • To maintain accurate purchase and sales recordsas required
  • Commissioning of services on behalf of the company
  • Ensure all transactions are fulfilled, accounting systems and records are accurately maintained at all times
  • Competency in the use of IT and all associated systems deemed necessary for the post in order to provide accurate data collection and transparency.
  • Ability to manage all financial matters relating to a successful company
  • Demonstrated track record of ensuring payments including salaries are complied with, in line with the agency timescales.
  • Provision of accurate profit and loss records at the end of each month
  • Ability to ensure accounts are maintained accurately and efficiently
  • Undertaking on line banking and other associated duties.
  • Manage all matters relating to petty cash including daily reconciliation.
  • The management of suppliers and services on behalf of the company
  • Negotiation of new contracts, service level agreements and services to achieve the best possible deal for the agency
  • Liaise with the company’s auditors and accountants and reconcile the accounts on a daily basis
  • Provide accurate information, reports and information to the company directors on a regular basis
  • Responding to Agency contract queries from LA regarding contract expectations, financial disputes and claw backs.
  • Taking a lead role in tendering for new contracts utilising skills of those within the Agency
  • Under take any other tasks commensurate with the post or deemed reasonable as identified by the company directors

  • Proven background in financial management
  • Ability to accurately manage finances on an ongoing basis
  • Experience in working in commissioning or contract tendering
  • Negotiation skills and ability to form working relationships with both internal and external colleagues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to support your dealings with the employees, sessional workers and sub-contractors of The Group as well as customers and suppliers of the business.
  • To be able to work on your own initiative
  • Excellent IT skills and competent in using word, excel, sage, esocial etc and any other required software.

  • Good organisational, planning and co-ordination skills including time management

  • The post holder must have the capacity for independent travel across the region and possibly to the North West office on occasion.
