Men’s Game of the Week – Sharks vs. Sybase (19+ Division)

Forget about the Miami Heat Big Three, The Sharks had three players with 20+ points! Number 7 lead the way with 23, followed by Ghods with 21, and Goff with 20. More importantly, they got back on defense. The scoring margin in this game, 20, was good for 5th best for week 4. This win propelled the Sharks to the top of the standings, and left Sybase with a lot of questions to answer.

Ladies Game of the Week – Angels vs. Thunder

The Angels remain undefeated after they edged out the Thunder. Schaad did all that she could to get the Thunder a win over their division foe, but her 11 points were bested by the 17 points the Angels’ Wilkinson threw down. That 6 point difference was the scoring margin for the game. The Angels now own a very comfortable 2 game lead in the division.

Legend of the Week – Zeus Ghods (Sharks) Zeus has quietly helped pull his Sharks back into a first place tie in the newly formed and very competitive 19+ Division. He is nearly unstoppable, particularly in the beginning of the game, when opponents don’t yet know to double-team him.

Other Stars in No Particular Order:

1)  Powers (Blades) In a tough elite division matchup between the undefeated Blades and the high scoring Ninja squad, Powers took the game in his hands. His 25 points were crucial in creating separation atop such a competitive division.

2)  Walker (Sybase) – Walker did all he could to give his team a chance with 33 points.

3)  Rice (Elders) – 26 points propelled his team back to the .500 plateau.

4)  Heard (CACI) – After losing earlier in the night, Heard put the team on his shoulders with 23 points to avoid a second loss.

Ladies Legend of the Week – Wilkinson (Angels)

Her 25 points across two games helped hold off some Thunder and Lightning as the Angels grabbed two wins and got some separation in the women’s division.

She plays a mean D too!

Other Stars in No Particular Order:

1)  Stubbs (Lightning) – She led the way with 17 points in a 2 point margin of victory over the Wolves.

Denise unselfishly passes too!

2)  McCutcheon (Wolves) – McCutcheon’s 11 points almost carried her team past the Lightning.

Highlights

1.  / Maximus / Little reached the 20 point mark, but his team fell to CACI to move back to .500.
2.  / Khanmen / You win one, you lose one. The Khanmen played two fairly close games, beating the Terminators but losing to Thangs. DeWispelaere had 30 points between the two games.
3.  / Hoosiers / The Hoosiers remain undefeated after beating the Pounders in the largest margin of victory for week 4. A very balanced offense was evident as nobody scored more than the 20 Mosher put up.
4.  / MagnumForce / MagnumForce picked up a win against Littleleaguers in one of the lowest scoring affairs of the season. They have to be pleased with their defense, but obviously hope to score more points in week 5. Rhodes was the only player in double digits with 11.
5.  / Sharks / See above.
6.  / Hustle / The Hustlers nearly doubled the Killers total as they cruised to their first victory of the season. Bottelson led the way with 16 points.
7.  / HoundDogs / The HoundDogs almost pulled off the upset over the Zephyrs, but fell 4 points short. Wesley and Tyson combined for 30 points.
8.  / Terminators / Ouch. Two losses in one week have left the Terminators in a tight spot in the division. Belcher and Davis had no trouble scoring with 32 and 17 respectively over the two games.
9.  / Thangs / Two Victories launched the Thangs into prime position for their week 5 matchup against the Hoosiers. Very balanced offensive play is their strength.
10.  / Wolves (Women’s League) / The Wolves lost by 2 points to the Lightning in the closest game of the week. McCutcheon and Peak scored 11 and 8 respectively.
11.  / Blades / This team continues to beat quality opponents to stay undefeated in the elite division. Powers was unstoppable with 4 others above 7 points. They now appear to be the team to beat in Elite! But the Spartans might think otherwise!
12.  / Supermen / The Supermen were flying high with a week 4 league high 72 points as they won over Kryptonite. Hoverman and Harris were dominant with 23 and 20 points respectively.
13.  / Spartans / The Spartans put up 68 for the 3rd most points in the league for week 4 as they continue their undefeated season tied atop the elite division. They got contribution from across the floor with Cooper and Evans leading the way with 17 and 16 respectively.
14.  / Tridents / The Tridents showed their might in a win over Powerhouse. They scored a very good 67 points with Julien leading the way with 18 points and Mundrake, Wilson, and Edmund combining for 31 points.

16.  / StrongArms / They lost by 21 to FullThrottle in week 4. They find themselves tied for 4th in the division with a 1-3 record. Very early in the season, but they need to get on a roll.
17.  / Ninja / Ninja lost to the Blades in a tough week 4 matchup. Matthews and Hay were a formidable duo with each getting 17 points.
18.  / Money / Money lost to the Elders in a defensive struggle that had neither team getting above 50 points. The matchup of Gulick vs. Rice was neat to watch as each scored 20+ points.
19.  / Elders / The Elders showed their experience by taking care of business to get back to .500 with a win over Money. Rice was 3rd in the league in scoring for week 4 with 26 points.
20.  / LittleLeaguers / The LittleLeaguers held MagnumForce to 35 points in week 4. Unfortunately, they only scored 28. Defense wins championships, but they gotta get their offense going. Even with the return of the vaunted Crowder, it wasn’t enough to help the LittleLeaguers to their first win!
21.  / Killers / The Killers just couldn’t score points to keep up with the Hustle in week 4. Beville led the way with 14 points, but they need to start getting more baskets to fall.
22.  / Zephyrs / A 4 point win over the HoundDogs helped them avoid an upset and continue their undefeated streak. They face a KodeRed team in week 5 that could topple their throne. Three men in double digits with Posz, Beeman, and Marshall accounting for 38 of their 51 points.
23.  / KodeRed / KodeRed played in a week 4 scrimmage and won 63-47. Maldonado dropped 27 points on Maximus.

25.  / Pounders / The Pounders lost to the Hoosiers by the largest scoring margin in week 4. Schimmel and David combined for 28 points, but had trouble stopping the powerful Hoosiers squad. “We are looking for our new free agent to assist us the rest of the way,” the GM stated

30.  / Sybase / See above. Walker scored a league high 33 points, but the next highest scorer was Fiavor with 5. Teams accomplish more than individuals.
