DIRECTIONS: Each week, you should select 3 of the Spelling Practice options below. Select 1 from list A, 1 from list B, and 1 from list C. Each activity needs to be on a separate sheet of paper. The entire Spelling Practice Packet needs to be turned in at the beginning of class on Friday. It should be stapled together in order. Late packets will lose 10 points per day. When you turn in your packet, write the list it is from and the number you chose at the top of the page.

List A

1. Rainbow Writing: Write each word 1 time using pencil. Trace over each word 3 times using 3 different colors. You will have written each word 4 times in one place.

2. Colorful Words: Print each word one time in pencil. Write each word again, but this time write the consonants in blue and the vowels in red. You will have written each word twice in two places.

3. Weird Writing: Write each word 1 time on a sheet of paper. Each word should be in a different color. The words should be written all over the page-sideways, up, down, diagonal-whatever! They should be written in different fonts. Make it crazy!

4. Third Time’s the Charm: Write each word 3 times. The first time the word should be printed, the secondtime it should be in cursive, and the third time it should be in “robot writing”.

5. Type it up:Use a computer to type each word 5 times.

List B

6. Spelling Synonyms: Print each word 1 time. Beside each word, write 1 synonym for that word. Number and skip lines.

7. Spelling Antonyms: Print each word 1 time. Beside each word, write 1 antonym for that word.Number and skip lines.

8. Spelling Sentences: Write a sentence using each word. Underline the word in the sentence.Number and skip lines.

9. What Does It Mean?: Use the a Dictionary to define each word. Write each word and its definition.Number and skip lines.

10. Sing Me a Song: Write a song, rap, or poem using at least 10 of the words. Underline or highlight the words.

11. Spelling Test: Make your own spelling test! Write 1 question for each spelling word. You can make the questions multiple choice, true/false, fill in the blank-whatever (except simply writing each word)! Don’t forget to include an answer key!

12.Crossword Puzzle: Make a crossword puzzle with at least 10 of the spelling words. Be sure to write the clues that go with each word.

List C

13. Stair step Spelling: Write each word on your paper. The trick is that on the first line, write ONLY the first letter of the word. On the second line, write the first and second letter of the word. On the third line, write the first, second, and third letter of the word. Keep going until you write the entire word.

14. Text Messaging: Write each word 1 time in print. Beside it, write the word in text messaging numbers.

15. Part of Speech Word Graph: Make a graph by writing the parts of speech at the top of your paper (noun, verb, adjective, adverb, etc.). List the words under the correct part of speech.

16. Word Search: Create a word search using all of the spelling words. Don’t forget to write a list of the words so that the person doing the puzzle knows what words to look for! Hint: Use graphing paper to make sure everything stays in line!

17. ABC: List the words in alphabetical ordertwice: one time going A to Z, then a second time going Z to A.

18. Bingo Card: Make a Bingo Card with the spelling words. Write 1 word in each space. In the extra spaces, write names of 5 students in your class. Don’t forget to write BINGO at the top!
