Membership Meeting

August 4, 2014

The meeting was called to order by President, Lynn Mercer, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

All new residents were welcomed to the community.

Secretary’s Report: The Secretary’s report was accepted as read with no corrections or additions.

Treasurer’s Report: The treasurer’s report was accepted as read and placed on file for audit.

Committee Reports:

Membership: No report was issued at this meeting, but the residents were reminded that Cindi Heck was at the membership table in the rear of the hall if anyone wished to join.

Government and Community Affairs: No report. A volunteer is still needed to chair this committee.

Liaison: Liz Eslaire reported that there were 6 completed issues, 11 pending and 2 new. The procedure for issuing complaints was reviewed with the residents.

Community Watch, Helping Hands, Medical Loan Closet, Recycle, Welcome: No reports.

Loan Closet: Charles Candrilli reported that there will shortly be changes made to enhance the performance of the Loan Closet. A maintenance fee will be required on all items that are loaned to residents to enable the closet to purchase new items or repair broken items. New lawn rakes have been purchased along with 5 new pack and plays.

Entertainment: Lynn Mercer reported on the upcoming New Year’s Eve Party. We will not be providing all of the food that has been available in the past, light snacks only and a continental style breakfast will be provided, the price of the ticket will be lowered but the quality of the entertainers will remain in tact.

Lynn Mercer also announced that residents must be a member of the HOA in order to speak at a meeting.

Old Business:

Lynn Mercer asked for volunteers from the audience to help clean the chairs at Harmony Hall.

The new roofing at the Pavilion has been ordered and will be installed upon arrival.

The new exercise equipment has been ordered for Ellenton Hall and renovations will begin shortly. Lynn Mercer explained what is going to take place.

Audience Participations included the following issues:

  • Anticipated finish date for Harmony Hall Pool
  • Unattended Pets

New Business:

Lynn Mercer reported that 20 evictions have taken place since January and advised the residents that rules are now being aggressively enforced.

The cross bars at the gates have been repaired 15 times in the past seven days and residents were urged to take care when approaching and stop after each vehicle.

Audience Participation included the following issues:

  • No flag at Harmony Hall
  • Request for park benches and/or picnic tables to be placed around the lake behind Harmony Hall
  • Thank you for the workers at the 4th of July party.
  • Houses being run into by mowers

Lynn Mercer reported that there will be five seats open for election of the Board this year and if anyone wishes to run for the Board to see Bill Dow, Nominating Chair.

With no further business to discuss, the 50/50 was held and the meeting adjourned at 7:35 PM.
