Colonie Soccer Club Parent’s Introduction Guide
Welcome to TheColonie Soccer Club!
ColonieSoccer clubfounded in 1977 (originally Village of Colonie), is a recognized club of the Capital District Youth Soccer League (CDYSL). It is our mission to create an environment where all kids have an opportunity to learn the game of soccer. We pride ourselves on being a community based program that is open to any player in the surrounding areas. Besides Travel soccer program we run two season of recreational soccer (Fall and Spring) and several developmental training programs during the winter and summer months.
Competitive Soccer Season – Below is an overview of a season depending on age level.
June/July team formations

Sept.-Oct.Fall CDYSL outdoor season six (6) games usually on Sunday afternoon u-10 and u12 only
Nov. – AprilIndoor trainings begin 2 per week ALL TEAMS
Nov. – Dec.Indoor session 1 (discretion of coach)
Jan. – Feb.Indoor session 2 (discretion of coach)
Jan. – MarchCapital District Futsal league u-10, u-12 (discretion of coach)

April – June Spring CDYSL season Ten (10) games played. 5 home games and 5 away games. ALL
Additional tournaments both indoor and outdoor will be arranged by each team based on interest and availability of players. This cost will be paid equally by all players playing in the tournament.
Indoor training sessions are held at Afrims. Indoor games seasons are divided equally between all players playing. You must pay the facility directly the per player fee deemed by your team manager. A separate annual membership fee of $15 is required by that facility. The club does not have any input on these fees or indoor game schedule.
Club fees and Coach’s fees (coaches fee can be paid in monthly payments directly to coach)
u-8$150 club fee ($100 coaches fee per player)

U-10 and u-12 $400 club fee (max $225 per player coaching fee)
- Fall season team fee and ref money (or additional indoor tournament if decided not to play)
- Futsal team Jan-March or local indoor tournament ( coach decision)
- Spring outdoor season team and referee fee
- 18 trainings at Afrims
- 18 trainings at South Colonie gym
- Goalie training
- Mandatory insurance coverage fee through CDYSL and ENYSSA
- Registration cost (LSS, Credit card fee, website, utilities)
- Equipment and field maintenance
- Coach education and certifications
u-14 thru u-18 $425 club fee (max $225 per player coaching fee)
- local tournament (coach decision)
- Spring outdoor season team and referee fee
- 18 trainings at Afrims (turf)
- 18 trainings at South Colonie gym
- Goalie training
- Mandatory insurance coverage fee through CDYSL and ENYSSA
- Registration cost (LSS, Credit card fee, website, utilities)
- Equipment and field maintenance
- Coach education and certifications
Uniforms:
Each player will be assigned a jersey number by the club. It is then the parent’s responsibility to order the uniform through a link on the Colonie website Currently the club wears the Nike striker IVuniform kit. Cost ~$85
Additional cost:
Indoor leagues and any additional tournaments are divided equally by players on the team.
Indoor session – 8 games usually $75 - $85 per player
Tournaments - $35 per player each tournament
Fields: Our outdoor fields are at Shaker road Elementary (u-10) and Lishakill sports Complex (u-8, u-12 to U-18) All Grass and maintained. Parental volunteers to help maintain our soccer field lines helps keep our cost down.
The spring season runs middle of April to late June. Play dates for each level is traditionally the following.
U-8 games usually Friday at 6:30 or Sunday afternoon.
