On behalf of the College Panhellenic Association at Florida Atlantic University I’d like to thank you for your interest in becoming part of the 2015 Panhellenic Judicial Board. Board members serve an important role in serving our Panhellenic community and we’re thrilled you’re showing interest in this responsibility.

To be eligible for this position, you must meet the requirements detailed in this application. You must also be able and willing to fulfill the obligations to which you will be held.

This document contains all necessary paperwork to complete your application. It outlines the procedures for application and explains the expectations and standards the Panhellenic Judicial Board members are held to. Minimum Qualifications

  • Maintain 2.75 cumulative GPA throughout term of service.
  • Be in good disciplinary and financial standing with her chapter and the university.
  • Be available to serve a one calendar year term.
  • The current term will end upon selection of the next Judicial Board (approximately February or March 2016) and Board members will maintain their role until that time unless the Board member graduates in December 2015).
  • The new elected EVP for 2016 will select the next Judicial Board
  • Must have been initiated for 1 full calendar year (exceptions may be made on a case by case basis if a woman was initiated within 1 year due to COB, etc.)
  • Applicants are not required to currently hold or have held a leadership position.
  • Cannot be a Fall 2015Rho Gamma.
  • Cannot be a Chapter President, Vice President or executive board officer of your individual chapter. Exceptions can be made on a case by case basis by the Executive Vice President.

Purpose of Judicial Board

  • Self Governance: Affirms that the members of the Judicial Board are responsible enough to identify and deal with violations of the Panhellenic ideals and policies.
  • Accountability: Appropriately confronting behavior that violates Panhellenic ideals and policies.
  • Education: Training, hearing procedures and sanctions that are appropriate for individuals and their chapters involved as well as the Panhellenic community as a whole.
  • Impartiality: Involvement as a Judicial Board member does not reflect values or concerns of a specific fraternity or sorority chapter. Members will be trained to act as impartial and unbiased members of the Fraternity/Sorority community who act in the best interest of the image and values, which reflect the larger community. Individual affiliation is irrelevant to the responsibility of a board member.

All Panhellenic women have the right to a fair and impartial hearing.

Job Description

  • Participatein group training so members are educated in the purpose of the board and the procedures and understand how the board functions.
  • Training will also include learning proper questioning techniques, the rights of each organization being charged, evaluating evidence, deliberations and sanctioning.
  • Manage and handle all filed infractions of NPC Unanimous Agreements, CPA Constitution & Bylaws, Code of Ethics, Recruitment Rules and/or other governing documents/standing rules under the advisement of the CPA Executive Vice President.
  • Conduct a fair hearing with impartial members of the Judicial Board.
  • Always maintain confidentiality before, during and after judicial hearings.
