Ambassador Program
CoS Ambassadors are a group of distinguished undergraduates with a major in the College of Science. Ambassadors participate in College of Science recruiting and outreach events. CoS Ambassadors are typicallyjuniors and seniors (but highly qualified sophomores are included). Theyhave a high level of academic achievement, undergraduate research experience and/or internship or leadership role. They are outgoing, motivated, and leaders within the college and across campus and serve as role models.
Several College of Science Ambassadors graduate this May, 2017 or graduate in December, 2017
We are seeking nominations for AY 2017-2018
To be nominated, students must have:
- 3.0 GPA, minimum (overall and in the major)
- Primary major in the College of Science
- Currentresearch programand/or internship experiencein a field of science
- Public speaking and customer service skills
- International travel, study abroad, or some other foreign experience is strongly desired
Nomination packet must include:
- Two (2) letters of recommendation (to be included with the nomination packet; submitted in sealed, separate envelopes with the faculty member’s signature across the flap of the envelope)
- faculty mentor for the student’s research/internship project
- another professor or mentor within the department
- resume (include employment history, clubs, and extracurricular activities as appropriate)
- copy of transcript (unofficial copy)
- completed application form
Training:
- The Science Ambassador Advisor will be responsible for providing training for the CoSAmbassadors.
- Ambassadors will be able to answer general questions about theirdepartments and other CoS majors,
- Ambassadors will have general knowledge of the UA application process, financial aid, on-campus housing, campus health, and various clubs and activities on campus.
Recognition:
- Recognition will be given at the CoS Awards celebration a week prior to graduation.
- Ambassadors will be recognized at their time of graduation in the Commencement program.

- Time commitment required is participation in 6-8 events per semester on average, including business meetings
