Memorandum of Understanding

Welcome to the instructional community at the North Harris Montgomery Community College District. We appreciate your willingness to share your skills with our students; however, as you know, there is a great responsibility to serve as adjunct faculty at our College. Below are the general responsibilities required throughout the term of this assignment:
1. Meet all classes for the full contact hours at the place and time indicated below, or when unable to do so, to notify the division office immediately;
2. Be well prepared for each class session;
3. Develop and follow a course syllabus (available at
http://www.cy-faircollege.com/Templates/content.aspx?pid=38249) for each NHMCCD
course being taught that includes:
a. Course name, course number and section number, catalog description of course, credit hours, & prerequisites
b. Statement of learning outcomes (available at http://research.nhmccd.edu/cat/catsrch.asp)
c. Required materials, including textbook to be used
d. Description of class attendance policy, the number of type of examinations to be given, and information about assignments (when due, how they will be weighted and graded, late assignment policy, etc.)
e. Your name and identification of how students can reach you
f. Detailed course outline of dates and assignments
g. District academic integrity statement
4. Check your assigned mailbox on campus before each class period
5. Check email regularly and respond to student and administrative emails promptly.
6. Maintain accurate grades, submit grades electronically, and submit a hard copy grade record to the division office at the end of the semester.
7. To certify and submit final grades by the date indicated on the first page of the End of the semester overview sheet.
8. To be familiar with the College and District policies. These polices cover standards of conduct and civil rights protections and are accessed at http://wwwdstc.nhmccd.edu/Templates/Content.aspx?pid=8431
9. Complete civil rights training: http://training.newmedialearning.com/top_level/nharrismontgcc_choice.htm
10. To notify the division office if you will miss a class, so substitute instruction can be provided.
11. Participate in professional development activities.
12. Adhere to adjunct teaching load limits.
