For the High School Seniors, we offer our congratulations on your acceptances. We wish you success. Be sure to submit each of your scholarship award letters to Mrs. Stone in the Counseling Office no later than Thursday, May 11th to be published in the Graduation Bulletin.

RODDY'S ROCKSTARS SCHOLARSHIP

The Roddy White Keep the Faith Foundation provides scholarships in a variety of areas. We provide scholarships for 4 year colleges, 2 year colleges, trade/technical schools, schools of the arts, and those that may need to attend prep school out of high school. The main concern of the foundation is to help enhance the experience of those who have a desire to continue their education or training in whatever field they desire. Scholarship Award Amount $500. Due April 30, 2017.

Gordon State Collegeis offer a new academic-based scholarship to incoming freshmen. The Presidential Scholars Program provides monies to offset the cost of tuition not covered by the HOPE, students are eligible for priority registration, preferred parking, invited to join the Honors Program, and receive a special designation at graduation. Minimum 3.5 GPA and 1100+ SAT or 24+ACT required.

University of North Georgia – The Military College of Georgia

Minuteman Scholarship

  • There are still scholarships available for senior Cadets who want to become Army Reserve officers.If interested, qualified Cadetsshouldact immediately.
  • Contact Major (Retired) Killeen, our Recruiting Operations Officer at o discusseligibility. (Must have good grades, good SAT or ACT scores,excellent physical fitness, good leadership potential andrecord of extra-curricular activities).
  • Cadets receives pay for basic and AIT, weekend drill pay, and Montgomery GI Bill. Also, Soldiers in the Guard or Reserve do not pay mandatory fees at UNG which saves $1,826 per year. In addition, Georgia residents who are contracted to commission receive up to $3,000 per year in Future Officer's Grant from the State of Georgia.
  • Leaders in our Corps of Cadets get paid. Cadet first sergeants, sergeants major, company commanders, battalion commanders, brigade commander and a few other key positions are paid more than $600 per month, and get free room and meals (about $9,500 per academic year).

The Mississippi Society of Georgia

Award: $1,000 scholarship opportunity for any Georgia senior planning to attend a 4-year institution in Mississippi.

BigSun Athletics Scholarships

In order to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits, all student athletes, whether high school seniors or college students, are eligible for this $500 award regardless of which sport they are participating in. Their participation may be any capacity - as a player, coach, assistant or official.

2017 Aspiring Nurse Scholarship

Award: Nursing Schools Almanac will award a $1,000 scholarship to an aspiring nurse.

Eligibility:

  • A track record of academic excellence, particularly in science and mathematics
  • A passion for the nursing profession and the overall field of healthcare
  • High school seniors who plan to pursue college education in nursing, including LPN / LVN, ADN, and BSN programs

Deadline: Applications accepted untilmidnightonJune 30

Judith McManus Price Scholarship – American Planning Association

Award: $2,000 - $4,000

Eligibility:

  • Women and minority students who are US citizens
  • Intend to pursue careers as practicing planners in the public sector
  • Be able to demonstrate a genuine financial need

2017 B.Davis Scholarship

Amount: $1,000

  • Essay of less than 1000 words: Describe the three characteristics of leadership you value most. Discuss why you believe that these traits are so important and how you feel that they are developed in an individual.
