5.0 NOTES:
5.1 The contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier must consult the General Technical Requirements (GTR) to determine applicability to this work item. In performance of this work item, the contractor and all subcontractors regardless of tier must comply with the requirements of all applicable GTRs including but not limited to GTRs 1-7.
5.2 The contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier are advised to review other work items under this contract to determine their affect on the work required under this work item. Many of the definitions relating to performance of this work item are found in Work Item 0001.
6.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS:
6.1 The Contractor is to comply with the Quality Assurance requirements of ISO 9001.
7.0 STATEMENT OF WORK:
7.1 When specification items require that an MLL Representative (i.e. Chief Engineer, Port Engineer or others that may be designated) accept and witness in-progress work, completed work, and testing or inspections, the Contractor shall provide notification to the MLL Port Engineer and the designated personnel at least four (4) hours but not more than twenty-four (24) hours in advance of the work sequence to be witnessed or approved. When work to be witnessed is to occur after normal day shift working hours or on the weekend, the MLL Port Engineer shall be notified at least four (4) hours before the end of the last preceding regular work shift.
7.2 All required quality assurance tests and inspections are to be completed by the Contractor’s Quality Assurance Personnel who are to document the test and inspections witnessed and the results observed prior to calling the MLL, MSC, USCG and ABS personnel.
7.3 The MLL Port Engineer may designate test work sequences, in addition to those identified by the specification item, that are to observed or inspected by a MLL Representative or regulatory body. The aforementioned notification requirements shall also apply to these designated work sequences.
7.4 MLL inspection is an independent function of the owner’s representative and does not relieve the Contractor of the responsibility or quality assurance requirements required by this contract and considered necessary to ensure product conformance. Any inspection or test call out for the MLL, MSC, USCG or ABS personnel to witness which is not in compliance with the specification or regulatory or class requirements will be charge against the Contractor using a change order.

8.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
8.1 The contractor shall provide all labor, material and equipment to accomplish this specification item.
8.2 The contractor shall remove and reinstall all interferences necessary to accomplish this specification item.
8.3 Inspection and acceptance of all work shall be by the designated MLL Representative. The MLL Port Engineer is the single point of contact authorized to address technical questions.
