Syllabus—Requirement Sheet/ World History

  1. ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

Each student will be required to complete all homework assignments, class work assignments, projects, and other items as scheduled. Lesson Plans are located at colbertindians.org. Grade, discipline, and attendance may be checked on sti.All makeup work is due by the next Tuesday after the absence for an excused absence.anything that we have covered or from We will be covering five centuries of World History which include the social, economic, geographical and political changes during these times. This will be a chronological study of the major events, movements, issues, leaders and groups of people from the Renaissance to modern times.

  1. MATERIALS REQUIRED

Each student will need the following items:

A three ring-binder or 5 subject notebook with pockets

Divider tabs to separate the binder (at least 5)—not needed for 5 sub.

Colored pencils or colored markers

Pens and Pencils

Box of Kleenex

Bottle of Germ X

Lysol/Clorox wipes

Students will need these materials as soon as possible. We will start working the first day of class, and be completing map work and projects by the end of the first week.

The three-ring binder or 5 subject notebook dividers should be labeled as follows:

  1. CLASSROOM BEHAVIOR

Each student will be expected to behave in an appropriate manner while in the classroom. There will be a list of classroom rules posted at several areas within the room. Classroom rules are as follows:

Student Behaviors

Be ready to learn when class begins.

Turn in work on time, and always do your best.

Have materials with you and know due dates.

Speak in a normal tone of voice, and listen attentively.

Correct problems quickly and peacefully before they escalate.

•Treat all members of the school community and all visitors with politeness and respect.

•Be responsible with property and belongings.

•Bring notebook, textbook, planner, and appropriate writing tools to class.

•Know due dates, and submit all coursework on time.

•All assignments are posted on the bulletin board and on the class Web site.

You can develop lifelong learning traits:

  • By showing curiosity about human nature and how the world works.
  • By seeking and valuing diversity.
  • By persisting in seeking out new solutions.
  • By using your unique talents and intelligence to promote positive change.

The consequences for breaking a rule in the classroom are as follows:

  1. Verbal warning.
  2. Writing assignment
  3. Detention after school with administration or myself
  4. Detention after school with administration or myself
  5. Phone call or email to parents or meeting with parents
  6. Office referral

***** The consequences listed above are for minor offenses. I will not tolerate disrespectfulness to myself or any other student. I will expect the student to treat others as he/she would like to be treated. I will determine consequences as I see fit for the incident committed. The first time a students name is left by the substitute teacher or a visitor the student will receive 2 days detention, 2nd time will be 1 day bus barn, 3rd time will be 2 days bus barn, and 4th time or more will be an office referral

  1. GRADING PROCEDURES:

My grading procedures are as follows:

Tests 35% (examples are: chapter tests, vocabulary quizzes, map tests, etc.)

Homework 10%

Class work 20%

Projects 35%

If a student is absent, it is his/her responsibility to make that quiz up or the grade received will be a zero. All make up work must be completed within three days for an excused absence. It is the student’s responsibility to get his or her missed assignment. Failure to do so will result in a zero for that assignment
