LODGING:

We have reserved seventeen rooms at the Best Western Plus Treehouse, 111 Morgan Way, Mount Shasta and may reserve more if necessary to accommodate 35 hikers. Our special rate for a room with two queen beds is $135.99, plus tax. The hotel has an indoor pool and spa, a fitness center and guest laundry. All rooms have a coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave. Breakfast will be available at an additional cost, on an optional basis, or hikers can furnish their own. Hikers will make their own lunches. There is a large market close to the hotel.

PARTICIPANTS and ROOM-SHARING:

Active Hikers: Amblers, Ramblers, Trekkers, Scramblers

Seventeen rooms have been reserved; each room must contain at least one active hiker. Non-hiking spouses/partners may join their hiking spouse/partner, but cannot hike with a group unless they sign a waiver and are approved by the hike leader. If it appears that the rooms are filled and there are fewer than 35 hikers, we may try to add additional rooms to reach the maximum number of 35 hikers.

SIGN-UP PROCESS:

Registration will begin at Noon on Monday, February 13, and will be by email only, first come, first served. Preference will be given to those who have donated service to the Trails Club in the past year. The number of hikers will be capped at 35. A registration fee of $20 will be collected once you are notified of your acceptance.

To register for this Safari, please answer each of the questions listed below* and email that information to Shirley Wiegand on or after Noon on February 13: .

Once you are accepted, we will notify you. You must then, within 30 days, do the following:

1.  Pay the $20 registration fee by delivering or mailing a check for $20 payable to Shirley Wiegand at 2232 Tice Creek Drive #4 (Entry AA);

2.  Book your room at the Best Western Treehouse in Mount Shasta. Contact the Best Western at 1-800-780-7234 or 1-530-926-3101. Be sure to mention that you are with the Trails Club

ESTIMATED COST:

·  Registration fee of $20 per person to cover meeting room rental, copying costs, and other miscellaneous expenses. Any money remaining in excess of expenses shall be donated to the Trails Club.

·  Lodging at the Best Western Treehouse (paid directly by each participant)

·  Meals and driver mileage reimbursement. We will be hosting a dinner for all participants the first night and perhaps the last. Details will follow regarding the cost of the dinner(s). On other nights you may wish to visit any of the local restaurants in the area.
