Students intending to take the opportunity to study the European Summer Program at Universitá di Macerata in Italy are encouraged to apply for this scholarship offered by Murdoch’s Law School. The program offers units on European Union Law, Comparative Law, and Legal Theory. The School of Law aims to support a student who may not normally have the financial means to participate in the program.

The scholarship is valued at $2,000 as a lump sum payment in May 2014.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for the Macerata Scholarship, you must:

·  Be a Murdoch University Law student intending to enrol in the European Summer Law Program in 2014

·  Have a history of contributions to the legal or general community

·  Be able to demonstrate financial hardship that would prevent you from participating in the program without this scholarship

·  Be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident

Selection Criteria

Your application will be ranked with other applications in an assessment of the combination of each of the following:

·  Your overall eligibility

·  Your level of financial hardship

·  Your history of satisfactory academic progress

·  Your personal statement that demonstrates a history of contributions to the legal or general community

·  References from persons qualified to comment on your achievements to date and your potential

The outcome of the application will be advised by email and no further correspondence will be entered into

regarding the outcome.

The University reserves the right not to award the scholarship if there are no suitable applicants.
