I.Welcome from the Wheaton College Club of New York City (WCCNYC)

------

Welcome alumnae/i, parents and friends of Wheaton College! Founded in 1886 as the first regional club, the Wheaton College Club of New York City (WCCNYC) it the largest of the regional clubs with nearly 3,000 members. Over the past century, it has waxed and waned, but today marks the end of the phases and the beginning of a permanent community.

This past Winter, several Alums gathered to restart the WCCNYC. We surveyed as many as 400 alums and were very pleased with the responses. Based on the survey results, and the outstanding volunteer assistance of additional alums, we established a committee. Below, you can find out who we are, what our vision is, and how we plan on making the vision a reality.

II.About the WCCNYC - Our Vision

------

What was Wheaton to you? Your first time away from home, a professor whose passion for his/her subject ignited your imagination, a place you could excel in athletics or academics, the start of lifelong friendships?

Regardless if you attended Wheaton College during the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s or recently graduated, you were a contributing part of a vibrant community.

What will the Wheaton College Club of New York City (WCCNYC) be to you? Networking for business opportunities, a forum to discuss current events, a place to greet new people, starting a book club, reconnect with those you may have lost touch with, a group to advertise to, taking a group of alums, and perhaps their friends and family, to one of your favorite places in or outside the city?

The WCCNYC, like Wheaton College itself, is multifaceted. We hope to establish a permanent presence, a sense of community and meet the individual needs for all members in the greater metropolitan area. To do so, we are committed to fostering events/activities, a current, interactive website and a quarterly newsletter.

V.WCCNYC Committee Contact Information

< Want to Join the WCCNYC Committee? >

We are always looking for volunteers to join our fun, friendly and hard-working committee. We meet once every 3 months in the city over good food, drinks and company to discuss and plan events as well as activities for the entire club.

At present, we are looking for more Members, a Treasurer, an Editor as well as some Writers who can contribute short articles about alumnae/i, events, activities, etc. for our quarterly eNewsletter.

If you’d like to get involved, kindly email one of the Committee Co-chairs:

-- Michele Imhof W’86

-- Cristen Scully Kromm W’95

-- Mike SalletteW’00

Please pass this message on to other alumnae/i who may be interested in these activities, as our e-address book contains addresses for only a fraction of all alums living in the greater NYC area. Better yet, encourage your friends to share their e-addresses with us so we can share these updates with them directly! If you would prefer to not receive these emails, or would rather receive them at another e-address, please respond to this message. Be sure to include your full name, class year, the e-address where you received this message, and your preferred e-address. Thank you!
