Coaching Clinic Staff

Carol Bruggeman

Carol Bruggeman has served as the color analyst for ESPN, Big Ten and SEC Network broadcasts. She also co-produced Level 1 and Level 2 instructional DVDs on softball-specific athlete development and has produced instructional DVDs focusing on baserunning and defense. During her coaching career, Bruggeman has been a part of over 700 victories, and has had a hand in many conference titles and coached numerous NFCA All-Americans. As an infielder at the University of Iowa, she was an All-Big Ten and All-Mideast Region selection, as well as an Academic All-American and a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, who received Iowa’s Athletic Academic Medal of Honor. In 1997, Bruggeman was inducted into the Iowa Softball Association Hall of Fame.

Rachel Folden

Rachel Folden is a former professional softball player in the NPF (National Pro Fastpitch). Folden retired after the 2012 season, after 5 years in the NPF. Folden played for two professional teams, the Carolina Diamonds in 2012, and the Chicago Bandits from 2008-2012. She finished her career ranked 2nd all time in NPF history in home runs (41), 3rd in RBI (122), 6th in walks (101), and T-8th in doubles (28). Prior to her stint at Carolina, Folden played for the Chicago Bandits for 4 seasons, where she was a 3-time All-NPF catcher, 2008 Rookie of the Year, 2011 Offensive Player of the Year, and 2011 Home Run Champion (league leader in home runs). Folden also won 2 NPF championships with the Bandits in 2008 and 2011. Folden was drafted out of Marshall University in Huntington, WV.

Jeff Brice

Jeff Brice is an ICA Hall of Fame inductee in 2016. Jeff has been umpiring softball since 1999. He has worked the IHSA state tournament twice in 2012 and 2015. Jeff currently serves as a IHSA clinician helping other umpires become better. He works all levels of collegiate games as well. Jeff has done numerous postseasons in Division I, II, and III. Jeff umpires softball at the highest level in the National Pro Fastpitch including the championship series in 2008 and 2009.

Mike Bukovsky

Mike won a state championship in his first year back as head coach of the Montini Catholic High School. He has a 87-16 overall high school softball coaching record. Mike has coached the Lemont Rockers for 8 seasons. Mike is a member of the Chicagoland 16” Hall of Fame. Coach Bukovsky coached Wrestling at Montini for 25 seasons with 11 trophies including 8 state championships. Mike has been the varsity defensive coordinator for Montini the past 27 years and has won eight state championships.

From Rockford:
Merge onto I-90 E toward CHICAGO (Portions toll). Take the exit toward US-20/MARENGO/HAMPSHIRE. Turn LEFT onto US-20.
