Clowne Road Runners Meeting for June the 4th 2010
Meeting opened at 7.30pm by Steve Shipp in the chair.

The minutes were read from the meeting in May –this was a true record agreed by Roger & seconded by Greg.
Matters Arising
Larwood 10k
Steve Hattersley reported the race went well. There was good feedback from the website and on the day. 265 runners completed the course. The blind runner, who Lynda ran with, enjoyed the day and sent her thanks and also informed us that she is a paralympian and relies on running events like ours to keep her fitness levels up.
Thank you to everyone who helped. These events can not go ahead without good support from members and their families.
There is to be a clean up meeting on Monday 7th June at7.45pm with the police attending.
Elmton Chase
Les informed us that this year Terry is not available on the day. Mr Chapman said we can use the field for parking. The council have been contacted regarding the rights of way and the strimming of footpaths. We also need someone who can be in charge of parking on the day. Roger will be time keeping – Reg & Karen supplying the funnel. There has been a vet team prize added also vouchers donated from Accelerate as prizes. Race numbers to Dennis and Dave to add an appeal for marshals on the website. All marshals to wear Hi-Vis jackets.
Summer XC 30th June
This will take place at the cricket club at 7.30pm – the recce of the course will take place this Sunday at 8am.
Handicap Race 2nd of July
Runners to arrive for 7pm to find their time start for the evening at a cost of £3 – race to commence at 7.30pm. Pie and peas after the race.
There will be no meeting in July because of the handicap.
Club Kit
Andy said Start Fitness should receive shipment next week.
Club Event
Andy Ward confirmed it will be on the 11th of September. The coach leaves at
7.30 am and this is a good family event. The cost is £5.00 each which will go to charity. More details to follow.
Lucozade Nutrition course
The Lucozade nutrition course was cancelled and a new date to be confirmed.
A charity request from Steve Battle, who is running the West Highland Way on the 19th of June was voted in favour for a £50 donation from the club.Steve is running in aid of theSheffield Children’s Hospital.
Brian Banton – President
Brian said he had a very good response about the quality of the T-shirt at the Larwood 10k. Brian commented on Clowne members running and not providing marshals. This to be monitored closely for next year’s race.
Les Banton – Half Marathon
The entry form is now on the website. Dennis to send out letters in the next few weeks.

No new members this month. We have a number of Larwood 10k T-shirts left. These will be brought to the Handicap night.

Steve passed round the Crowden Fell race results and up to date overall results.
A reminder - Next race is the Long Eaton 5m - 13th June.
John Harrison – Worksop – Harriers

Les passed around postcards advertising the 3 counties races and requested people to hand them out at races.
Graham said the beginners Tuesday sessions were still going well and they were now advertising themselves as the ‘Gentle Joggers’.
Matt has organised free issues of ‘The Northern Running Guide’ for our members.
The 3 Lakes Classic is on the 20th June starting from RotherValleyCountryPark.
The next meeting is on the 6th of August at 7.30pm
