CLOUDS VOCABULARY SHEET

Prefixes are words that come at the beginning of a word before the root word. For example, if I ask you to REDO your homework DO would be the root word and RE would be the prefix. Not only do you have to do your homework the first time, but adding the prefix RE means that you have to do it over again a second time. Cloud names have prefixes too that tell you where a cloud is located in the sky.

Take a look at the chart below and fill in the missing blanks under the prefix column and the prefix meaning column. The prefixes you will use with clouds are Cumulo-, Strato-, Cirro-, and Alto-.
