Subject: Player Registration Fee Payment Policy

I.SCOPE: The purpose of this policy is to provide guidelines for the payment of CAHA

player registration fees.

II.POLICY

  1. Existing and new members (parent and/or guardian) that possess a debt with CAHA on the day that the player registers will not be allowed to register the player(s) until the debt is paid in full to CAHA.
  1. Ice Mite, Mite 1, Mite 2 and 8U player registration fees must be paid in full at the time of registration.
  1. Squirts, Peewees, Bantams, 10U, 12U, and 14U player registration fees may be paid in full at the time of registration or may be paid on an installment plan.
  1. First installment payment is due at the time of registration.
  2. Spring Registration: Additional installment payments are due the beginning of each of the following months: May, June, July, August, September, October.
  3. Fall Registration: Previous year CAHA members must have registration fee paid off in full by October 1st. If fee is not paid off in full, section C paragraph 4 and 5 rules of this policy apply. New members who register in the fall may utilize the installment payment plan. Fall registration installment payments are due the beginning of each of the following months: October, November, December.
  4. If the installment payment is not paid in full by the end of the payment period, the members account will be considered in arrears, the member will not be a member in good standing and will lose membership privileges until rectified.
  5. If the installment payment is not paid by the due date, the child(ren) of the member (parent and/or guardian) delinquent on payment will be prohibited from further participation in practices and games until payment is made.
  6. Members choosing the installment payment plan may choose to pay more then the installment plan amount or pay the remaining registration fee balance due in full at any time before the final month of their installment payment plan.
  1. Existing and new members (biological parent(s) and/or legal guardian(s)) that have three (3) or more children registered as players in CAHA may qualify for a “Family Cap” on the player registration fee cost.

1. Payment towards the “Family Cap” amount will follow the same rules set forth in section C paragraphs 1 through 6 of this policy.

  1. Player registration fees and family cap amounts will be set each year by the CAHA board of directors.

F.Registration fees for a Mite, Squirt, Peewee, Bantam, 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U player that has never been registered with USA Hockey or any hockey association will be allowed to pay a $100 registration fee for the age group they will be playing in for their first year of participation.

G.A refund will be given only in the following situations.

  1. A player is injured and/or has a medical condition that will not permit his/her continued participation in the program. Written verification by the attending physician is required. The written verification must be submitted within fourteen (14) days of the injury.
  2. The family members and the player will be moving to another community before the completion of the season. A written request must be sent by the parent and/or legal guardian and must be submitted within seven (7) days after receiving a transfer notice.
  3. Amount of refund will be rated on the basis of the amount of money paid or still owed; the amount of time played during the season; and the amount of time left in the season. The CAHA board of directors will make the final determination.

H.Fundraising may be an option for members as an aid in reducing the player registration cost. Fundraising options will be made available to the member.

I.Hardship requests will be handled confidentially on a case-by-case basis by the CAHA finance committee and board of directors. Members must present their hardship case in writing and in person to the finance committee. The finance committee’s recommendation must go before the CAHA board of directors. The CAHA board of directors will have the final decision on any hardship case.

J.Scholarships to put towards player registration fee payment may be available. Availability of scholarships will be determined by the amount of donations made towards the program. Members must present their scholarship request in writing and in person to the finance committee. The finance committee’s recommendation must go before the CAHA board of directors. The CAHA board of directors will have the final decision on any scholarship requests.

K.Returned or bounced checks will be the same as non-payment and any bank service charges will be added to the individuals account balance.
