Background

As a componentofitsnextaccreditationsystem, theACGMEhasestablished theCLERprogramtoassess the graduate medical education(GME)learningenvironmentof each sponsoringinstitutionandits participatingsites.Eachsponsoringinstitutionwill bevisitedevery 18months.

TheCLERvisitwillreviewinstitutionalactivities in theareasofsafety, qualityimprovement,transitions incare, supervision, dutyhoursoversight,fatiguemanagement/mitigation, andprofessional responsibilities.
