Nursing Shift Review Clinical Panel

Two Vital Signs sections should appear based on the set-up in the Clinical Panel Dictionary.

Note the following:

·  The first Vital Signs Section on the panel, with the four separate label sections (Temperature, Pulse, Respirations, and Blood Pressure), displays the documented data in the same order as designated on the Display Assessment, EMR.SO.VS, shown below. The data is separated out into individual topics by label section.

·  In each label section that has an instance (Pulse and Blood Pressure), the locations documented appear in alphabetical order.

EMR.SO.VS

·  The second Vital Signs Section on the panel, with only the one label section (Vital Signs), does not display the data in the same order as designated on the Display Assessment, EMR.SO.VS1, shown below. The Temperature and Respiratory Rate are displayed first, then, the data that was documented as part of an instance (Pulse and Blood Pressure) are displayed in alphabetical order according to the locations of the instances. The Pulse locations and Blood Pressure locations are blended together and the data is difficult to interpret.

·  If a query on a display assessment can be documented within an instance, a separate label section should be set up on the Display Assessment.
