The Practice Area
The practice covers the Clifton area and is close to the main road out of Nottingham to the motorway and airport, and is close to the Nottingham Trent University and Queens Medical Centre, the local teaching hospital.
The practice population is varied, comprising a mix of elderly, working families and single parent families, with many residents having lived here since the houses were built in the late 50’s. Several generations of the same families live within the area, and this provides for good social support networks.
Clifton has a good community spirit and once people move into Clifton they are often reluctant to leave.
Our list size is around 8200.
Anelderly person’s housing development was completed in spring 2009 and we work closely with the project team to provide services to the complex.
History of the Practice
The Practice was established in 1958 and the practice moved to this Primary Care Centre in April 2006. When fully staffed the practice has five partners and 2 salaried doctors. We are currently recruiting for one of those salaried doctors. We are a busy friendly practice and have a history of achieving our targets. We are actively involved in the Nottingham Clinical Care Commissioning Group and two of our partners are GP appraisers and one partner a carries out CQC inspections.
We are a GMS practice and were one of the first practices to introduce nurse-led triage, health-care assistants and in-house phlebotomists. We are involved in training GP Registrars and FY2 doctors, have paper-light accreditation and national young person friendly status.
