  1. CLEP Exam fee is $77 per exam($80 after July 1, 2012)
  2. College Composition will replace English Composition with Essay
  3. College Composition Modular will replace English Composition and Freshman College Composition

REGISTRATION
  • CLEP exams are computer based and administered on computers.
  • A separate registration form is required for each exam.

Military Personnel and Government Funded Civilians
CLEP Exam Fee
Free to all eligible military personnel
with proper military ID. / Kalamazoo Valley Community College
does not charge a proctoring fee for Military Personnel or Veterans
Exams with optional essay require
additional fees.
The Administration fee and optional essay fee

Veterans
Veterans must pay their CLEP examination and administration fees at the time of testing; however, they may seek reimbursement for all fees from the VA after they have taken their exams. For more information about who is eligible for the CLEP benefit and how veterans can submit a claim, visit www.gibill.va.gov/pamphlets/testing.htm.
Additional Information
  • Exams are administered Monday through Saturday (except during Summer Semester).
  • Exams are timed for 90 minutes each.
  • An additional 90 minutes is allowed for exams with optional essay.
  • Examinees must now present two forms of personal ID. The primary ID must be a valid government issued photo ID (ex: driver's license) with photo and signature. The secondary ID must have a photo and/or signature. All funded Military examinees must present a valid government issued photo ID and a current military ID.
  • No food, drinks, electronic communication devices, personal calculators, guests, children and/or pets are allowed in the testing room.
  • Make sure that your institution accepts the CLEP exam you plan to take.
  • Contact the Testing Center for further information.

Exam Preparation
  • The current edition of the CLEP "Official Study Guide, 19th edition" may be available for purchase in public bookstores, college bookstores in your area and on-line. The guide contains information on all 35 exams.
