CLAYDEN GALLERY:

Part of a Grade II converted Brewery warehouse, Quay Arts used to be owned by Mew Langtons and the Clayden Gallery was previously used as a store room for sprits and beer barrels during the early 1900’s.

This fantastic space boasts approx 30sq metres of floor space and approx 17 non-linear metres of wall space. Ideal for 2D and 3D work, this flexible space welcomes all art forms, from fine art paintings and experimental ceramics to video work and installations to create a balanced programme across the year. Perfect for solo or group shows and those recently graduated to show, sell and experiment in, as well as for schools and community groups to display educational work.

Quay Arts is committed to creating opportunities for local and regional artists and hope this space allows creativity and experimentation to flourish.

The gallery is casually invigilated by Quay Arts’ volunteers, i.e. a steward regularly checks the space. The gallery is open: Mon – Sat, 10am – 4pm, (closed Sundays and Bank Holidays).

HIRE DETAILS:

  • Hire rate: £100 per week +VAT (minimum 2 weeks booking required). VAT is not applicable for educational bookingsi.e. schools.
  • All exhibitors must present their work in a professional capacity by filling out the Gallery Hire form and showing a small sample of their work.
  • Curatorial/technical assistance can be arranged at £15 per hr, and must be booked 1 month in advance of exhibition start date.
  • Quay Arts is able to list the exhibition on itswebsite and as part of its regular e-newsletter.
  • Private Views and talkscan be arranged, please contact for more information and rates.

SELECTION PROCESS:

Exhibitions are selected on an ad-hoc basis and we welcome applications at any time. Just fill out the Gallery Hire form and email to attaching a sample of your work.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

You will be contacted withinonemonthof receipt ofyour application to notify you whether or not your application has been successful. The selection panel’s decision in all matters is final.If you are successful, a contract will be issued with Terms and Conditions for your exhibition.If you are not successful, applicants can always reapply.
