Classroom expectations, consequences, rewards, & procedures
Expectations:
- Be respectful to everyone at all times
- Be prepared at all times
- Listen to and follow instructions. “One Mic Rule”
- Do your best each and every day!
Policies:
MDCPS policies will be observed in this class. This includes the dress code and the policies concerning electronic devices.
- Must be in uniform (see student handbook)
- All electronic devices must be turnedoff and out of sight during class
- Your school ID badge will be worn in the classroom at all times
NegativeConsequences:
- Warning
- Student-Teacher conference
- Phone call home and/or Parent-Student-Teacher Conference
- Referral to administration
Rewards:
- Verbal recognition
- Invitation to selected field trips/events
- Phone call home to inform the legal guardian of your hard work
Passes:
- Students may only receive a restroom break based on conduct and independent class work completion, unless a medical note requests otherwise.
- No passes will be given during the first and last 15 minutes of any period.
Attendance and Tardy Policy:
You will be responsible for any missed assignments/class work/notes for unexcused and excused absences. If a student misses a class, the child must bring a note with him/her when he/she returns to school. If this does not happen, the absence will be marked as “Unexcused.” If the absence is EXCUSED, the missed assignment can be turned in for a grade. If a student misses a test, it must be made up on during the next class day or after school (prior arrangements must be made) with-in a week of returning to school.
It is unacceptable to be tardy to class. Student must obtain a tardy pass PRIOR to coming to class. Repeat offences will require parent/guardian contact. If a parent-teacher conference is needed, one will be set up.
Grading:
- Class-work= 40%
- Tutorials = 20%
- Binder = 20%
- Projects/Home Assignments = 20%
