___ Don’t get me wrong, soccer is a great game, but it is just a game.

___ We can never make athletes 100% safe, I don’t fault the game of soccer.

___ All of her test results showed that she was suffering from post-concussive

syndrome.

___ Jordan always liked it if we could beat his/her old club.

___ Coaching girls was different than coaching guys.

___ I figured Mia might be able to score a hat trick against this Triad team.

___ From the way she acted, I’m sure she suspected she had gotten a

concussion.

___ And Jenna’s Law was not passed until after Mia’s injury.

___ But Mia didn’t get up, and she wasn’t moving.

___ Even so, all coaches are still responsible for the safety of their players.

___ Our players’ health and safety are very important to us.

___ We barely touched on concussions.

___ I suffered a concussion as a high school soccer player myself.

___ ... we never did go back for the follow-up visit with Dr. Mueller.

___ I’ve always loved soccer …

___ Soccer is a physical sport; top players have to be tough.

___ I knew Mia was looking at several top schools.

___ I still have the instruction sheet he gave us after her visit.

___ Will she ever go to college or be the person she could have been?

___ It would have been important for Mia to tell her future coaches about that

concussion.

___ Mia was amazing playing as a striker.

___ What happened to Mia seems like a freak accident to me.

___ So it’s hard for me to testify for the defense.

___ She couldn’t concentrate and had trouble remembering things.

___ I was not familiar with Jenna’s Law at all until this trial.

___ … we do not have money for paid assistant coaches or athletic trainers.

___ We have to do whatever it takes to put a stop to this type of tragedy.
