CLASS TITLE:REVENUE ADMINISTRATOR III - SES
ALLOCATION FACTOR(S)
This is work directing all activities of a functional area or areas in a large area office or central office involved in the administration of revenue laws. The primary duty of the employee(s) in the position(s) allocated to this class is to spend the majority of time communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating employees, planning and directing their work; and having the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward or discipline subordinate employees or to effectively recommend such actions.

- Motivates employees to improve the quality and quantity of work performed.
- Plans work loads, work flows, deadlines, work objectives and time utilization with employees.
- Evaluates employees through establishing evaluation criteria and responsibilities and meeting regularly with employees to ensure the established criteria are met.
- Trains employees in methods for performing an effective and efficient job.
- Communicates on a regular basis with employees both individually and in staff meetings.
- Directs the work of employees to ensure best use of time and resources.
- Plans, assigns and supervises the activities of supervisors in the administration and collection of various taxes.
- Instructs personnel in the proper procedures and informs them of law and rule changes.
- Assists taxpayers, child support clients and agency personnel by providing information on all laws administered by the Department of Revenue.
- Reviews completed case work to determine necessary legal action to effect collection.
- Holds conferences with taxpayers who have requested hearings under their rights of appeal in an attempt to resolve problems to the mutual benefit of the State and the taxpayer.
- Ensures the office is operated in accordance with agency and program rules, regulations, and applicable laws.
- Controls and maintains a satellite rapid deposit operation.
- Ensures all necessary internal controls are in place to safeguard State of Florida assets.
- Acts as liaison with local banks and post office officials concerning state treasury deposits and tax remittances.
- Prepares reports and analyses concerning activities within the area.
- Coordinates, provides, and monitors office maintenance and logistic support for Collection and Enforcement, Audit, and Ad Valorem sections.
- Represents the department during court litigations.
- Collects tax and license revenues and forwards funds to appropriate state agencies.
- Performs related work as required.
