CLASS TITLE:PROFESSIONAL GEOLOGIST ADMINISTRATOR - SES

ALLOCATION FACTOR(S)

This is managerial geological work requiring licensure by the State Board of Professional Geologists and administering the functions of a specialized statewide or major geological program. The employee(s) in the position(s) allocated to this class exercise(s) independent judgment in formulating or assisting in the formulation of policies and procedures which have significant impact in personnel administration and/or preparation and administration of budgets.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

  • Directs and supervises a staff of professional geologists and other support personnel.
  • Proposes, develops and implements programs.
  • Prepares and administers budgets.
  • Reviews and approves proposals for specific environmental or hydrogeologic projects.
  • Serves as liaison with local governmental agencies and the public.
  • Prepares reports and correspondence.
  • Directs and implements regulatory policies for geologic programs.
  • Develops training programs.
  • Signs off and seals permits, contracts, reports, and other documents which require a pg seal for public record.
  • Performs related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Registration as a Professional Geologist in accordance with Florida Statute 492 and three years of post-registration experience, two years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
