CLASS TITLE:PAROLE TECHNICIAN II

This is entry-level professional work within the Florida Parole Commission processing case documents in the areas of Parole, Release, Clemency or Revocations.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

  • Reviews all examiner interviews that contain a variety of technical case data.
  • Reviews, monitors and updates information as needed for a variety of parole or release cases and ensures proper placement on Commission voting docket.
  • Attends and records full Commission decisions made at Commission meetings.
  • Keeps weekly and monthly statistics and prepares reports.
  • Receives disciplinary report information from Department of Corrections' staff, prepares postponement orders for Commissioners' signatures and dockets cases for further Commission action.
  • Assists with the processing of judicial notices to Commissioners' offices.
  • Travels with Commissioners to out-of-town voting meetings to record in writing on the official voting docket the decisions of the Commission.
  • Coordinates the visitor functions of the Commission, supervises the preparation of visitor notification letters, prepares visitor lists for the Commissioners, and supervises the checking in and seating of visitors on voting days.
  • Inputs warrant information into the NCIC/FCIC and retrieves information of a confidential nature from the NCIC/FCIC.
  • Answers phone inquiries from attorneys, family members, citizens and public officials pertaining to warrant status, hearing dates, docket dates and final dispositions.
  • Retrieves DOC files for review of supervision status.
  • Assists with on the job training for Parole Technician I's.
  • Provides back-up assistance to other professionals within the Division of Operations by contacting key criminal justice agencies for pertinent information.
  • Coordinates the completion of reports to submit to the Clemency Board.
  • Performs related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Professional or nonprofessional experience in parole, probation, corrections, law enforcement or clerical work can substitute on a year for year basis for the required college education.
