CLASS TITLE:FIELD INSURANCE REGIONAL ADMINISTRATOR - SES

ALLOCATION FACTOR(S)

This is work supervising the activities of service office(s) in a region for the Department of Insurance. The primary duty of the employee(s) in the position(s) allocated to this class is to spend a major portion of the time communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating employees, planning and directing their work; and having the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, recall, promote, and discharge, assign, reward or discipline subordinate employees or to effectively recommend such actions.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

  • Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of service offices in an assigned area.
  • Interprets, administers, and enforces insurance and related laws.
  • Explains policies, procedures, and state regulations to associates, subordinates, insurance agents, companies, and the public.
  • Provides information to service offices and the public on insurance matters.
  • Establishes procedures, policies, field operation manuals and training programs.
  • Advises insurance officials, agents, companies, attorneys, and claimants pertaining to insurance complaints and related matters.
  • Conducts investigations and attends court and hearings.
  • Visits service offices, evaluates job efficiency and performance of personnel under supervision.
  • Performs related work as required.
