CLASS TITLE:DENTAL EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

ALLOCATION FACTOR(S)

This is work performed by a dentist in one of the following areas: (1) directing a county dental health program; (2) directing the institutional dental health program at the Reception and Medical Center or Florida State Hospital; (3) assisting in directing all activities of the statewide Public Health Dental Program; or (4) assisting in directing the statewide dental health program for the Department of Corrections. The employee(s) in the position(s) allocated to this class exercise(s) independent judgment in formulating or assisting in the formulation of policies and procedures which have significant impact in personnel administration and/or preparation and administration of budgets.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

  • Develops policies, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Administers dental participation in patient care plans.
  • Supervises dental personnel.
  • Trains personnel in dental procedures.
  • Participates in work related community activities.
  • Prepares and administers budgets.
  • Assists with the evaluation and direction of statewide dental services in correctional institutions.
  • Conducts on-site reviews of dental services and care and recommends needed improvements concerning the maintenance of basic standards of dental care.
  • Performs related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licensure as a Dentist in accordance with Florida Statute 466 and two years of professional experience in the practice of dentistry.
