Class Behavior System

In our class, I encourage appropriate behavior by clearly explaining what the class rules look like and sound like. I will encourage the students with positive cues and individual reminders. Students are also able to earn paper tokens or get a star in their bucket filler buckets for going the extra mile in their academics, with their behavior or in any way that makes our classroom a great place to be. These tokens and bucket filler buckets go into a box for a weekly drawing. Each week we draw 10 random winners. The whole class will also work together to earn class rewards.

Our class will use a reminder system that has 3 cards: green, yellow, and red.

Great behavior = green card

1 reminder = yellow card

2 reminders = red card and 5 minutes of refocus

3 reminders = 10 minutes refocus in a buddy classroom

4 or more reminders = parent conference and behavior contract

If your child receives a red card for the day, I will send home a note with a brief explanation of the problem behavior.

If a student loses a card, they can earn it back by working to improve their behavior for the rest of the day.

Each Friday, students that have not received a red card for that week, will be rewarded with extra free choice time.

I also support the school-wide behavior plan.

My goal is to keep our classroom a fun, highly engaged learning environment. Please help me by discussing our class rules at home. The rules are:

1.  Be kind to others

2.  Take turns & share

3.  Inside voices

4.  Walking feet

5.  Listen & follow directions

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
