Personal statement:

I am a Sociology graduate from Warwick University about to commence my Multimedia News Journalism course at Press Association, London. I won a bursary from the Journalism Diversity Fund (JDF) to pay for my course.

Key issues of interest include current affairs, crime, culture, poverty and health.

10/12/2014-17/12/2014 / Essex Chronicle / News Reporter / I helped write stories, provided exciting features, interviewed many people, did lots of research for stories, helped with live blog updates and got a lot of work published in print and online. My week involved ringing the MET office, writing TOWIE’s Lucy’s’ top ten moments, knocking on hundreds of doors in an attempt to interview the 80 -year old woman who hit a burglar with her handbag.

I did lots of interviewing and shadowed reporters at court. I had training on how to do 'Vox Pops' and of the software incopy.

In my spare time I play for Southend Ladies Hockey team, I enjoy the gym and aerobics. I have a keen interest in art and love to paint. I can speak German to a high level and have done work experience in a German school. I enjoy travelling and visiting new countries and like to surf when I have the time. I enjoy cooking and have am very interested in health and fitness. I have my bronze and silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards. Most of all I am outgoing and motivated and am passionate about a career in journalism.
