Scavenger Hunt
•On February 26 you will be emailed a list of literary items with varying point values assigned to them. Your job is to find as many of these items as you can and digitally photograph them.
•All photos submitted for final album or bonuses must be original photos taken by you during the scavenger hunt (no images found on internet or old photos). To help ensure this, include yourself in each photo to demonstrate the originality of photo.
•Album can include multiple shots of same item if necessary for clarity, e.g. one photo of item with you, one close-up photo of same item alone. Only one point value will be awarded per item.
•There may be multiple people on a “team” but there must be one primary person who is photographed with the items. Only one prize will be awarded per winning album.
•Photographedimages of items will not count. That is, if the item you are hunting is a banana, you must find an actual banana to photograph. You cannot take a photo of a picture of a banana in a magazine. Possible exceptions might include a 3D representation, like a toy banana or an outdoor banana sculpture.
•Unless there is a specific exception noted, you cannot make the item. You cannot make a banana out of Play-Doh and photograph it.
•An item may require staging, and this is okay. For example if the item is a banana inside a hat, you can place a banana in a hat to photograph.
•In general: have fun, be creative, don’t be underhanded!
•You are responsible for creating an album with labeled photos. Any photo-sharing platform that can be accessed without payment is okay to use. Label photos using the item’s list number and name, e.g. “14 banana in hat”.
•All albums must be emailed to Liz by 7:00 PM EST on March 1, 2014 (may be link to online album). You will receive a confirmation email upon receipt and access of your album.
Facebook Group Bonus Points
•You have the option of joining the Facebook Scavenger Hunt group as a way to connect with others on the hunt and to earn bonus points.
•Each day of the scavenger hunt, a bonus challenge will be posted to this group. You have 24 hours to find the requested item and post a photo of it to the group page. Bonus points will be awarded for all who successfully complete challenges.
•You can choose to participate in any or all of the challenges. You will only be awarded points for those challenges you complete; no points are deducted for non-participation.
•Participants must have a FB account and join designated group to participate in bonus activities.
Winner
•Winner will be chosen by whoever accumulates the most points. In the event of a tie, email timestamp on submitted final album will determine winner (who submitted first).
