CLASSIC COACH TRIP TO SEE THE BRISTOL BOXKITE FLY!
A day triponboard a classic Bristol coach to The Shuttleworth Airplane Collection with guided tourand an evening air show featuring the flight of the Bristol Boxkite.

  • Operated by City Sightseeing, Bristol as part of the BAC 100 Centenary of Flight celebrations
  • A one-off day-trip onboard a classic Bristol built Greyhound coach (Note:1965 BRISTOL COACH BHU 92C; which entered service with Bristol Omnibus Company on April 1st 1965 in the cream and red colours of the Bristol Greyhound coach fleet and ran on a variety of express coach services, tours and private hires from the West Country for seven years. She was then repainted green and put to work on local bus services around Bristol.)
  • Includes a guided tour of the Shuttleworth Airplane Collection in Bedfordshire; which depicts the history of flight from the early 1900s to the 1950s. The Collection is situated at the Shuttleworth Aerodrome; one of the few traditional all grass aerodromes still in regular use, and features Bristol Aeroplane Company’s 1917 Bristol M.1C replica, 1918 Bristol F2b fighter and also 1962 Bristol Scout Type D.
  • Features an evening air show including a flypast of a replica Bristol Boxkite – an aircraft that first flew on 29th July 1910 that went on to become Bristol's first successful production aeroplane. This particular Bristol Boxkite was built by F. G. Miles Engineering Ltd in the 1960s for the film ‘Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines’, which the Bristol Aeroplane Company purchased and placed in the care of the Collection for preservation.
