1.  Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance

Mayor Saunders called the meeting to order at 4:00p.m. Members present: Paul Weber, Brad Gunderson, and Jared Gapinski. Others present: Ross Olson, City Administrator.

2.  Interviews for City Council Vacancy

The City Council interviewed the following applicants for the vacant City Council seat.

Each applicant was asked the following questions:

·  What attracted you to the City Council’s open seat position? What particular assets/strengths will you, if selected, bring to the position?

·  What do you consider the three most important issues facing the City of Sauk Rapids?

-What strategies might you propose for dealing with the issue you feel is most important?

-What unique perspectives do you bring for addressing those top three issues?

·  Many times the Council is faced with making difficult decisions. How do you balance competing interests, making sure decisions are made in the best interest of all the resients of Sauk Rapids?

·  Do you see any areas where opportunity exists for increased regional cooperation with our neighboring communities?

·  This position will require you to attend evening as well as potential day meetings. How do you feel about this?

·  This concludes our questions; is there anything you would like to add for our consideration? Do you have any questions for us?

3.  Adjournment

Motion: Moved by Councilperson Weber and seconded by Councilperson Gapinski to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried unanimously.

Mayor Saunders adjourned the meeting at 6:50p.m.
