This meeting was called to order by Mayor Allan Lowe at 6:15 p.m.
PRESENT: Mayor Allan Lowe Council Members: Melissa Klos, Greg Neiser,
Michael Sutton, Mirelda Sanchez Tokarczyk and Kevin Wisniewski

WORK SESSION
City Clerk Amy VanderLeest did the swearing in of the newly elected City Council members.
Erin Kuhn, Executive Director for the West Michigan Shoreline Regional Development Commission gave a presentation to Council regarding the 21st Century Infrastructure Pilot program and answered any questions Council had on being a part of the program.

Council Member Klos moved to approve the Consent Agenda. This motion was supported by Council Member Sutton and carried.

2017-183 NEW BUSINESS
7A. 21st Century Infrastructure Agreement
Council Member Wisniewski moved to approve the agreement with the 21st Century Infrastructure Pilot program and data sharing with the State of Michigan. This motion was supported by Council Member Klos and carried.

7B. Huntington Bank Account Change
Council Member Klos moved to approve the recommendation from the City Treasurer to change the account types within our current Huntington Bank accounts. This motion was supported by Council Member Sutton and carried.

7C. City Attorney Proposal
Council Member Tokarczyk moved to send out request for proposals on this item. This item was discussed during the work session. There was no second to this motion.
Council Member Klos moved to approve the proposal from Parmenter O’Toole for another three-year cost agreement. This motion was supported by Council Member Wisneiwski and carried.

7D. Consumers Energy LED Streetlight Proposal – Dawes/Princeton Streetlight
Council Member Klos moved to approve the proposed contract with Consumers Energy to update two current HPS lights with LED replacements and authorize staff to execute all documents. This motion was supported by Council Member Sutton and carried.

7E. 2017 Budget Amendments
Council Member Sutton moved to approve and adopt the budget amendments for Fiscal Year 2017. This motion was supported by Council Member Klos and carried.

2017-186 PUBLIC COMMENT
State Representative Jon Bumstead, R-Newago, was present to announce to Council and those in attendance that he is running for a seat on the State Senate, Michigan’s 34th Senate District in November 2018.
Mary DeHollander, 1043 Amherst Rd., gave an update on the Holiday Tree Lighting Event.
Carrie Crane, 3229 Maple Grove Rd., shared concerns on maintenance code enforcement and speeding along Maple Grove Rd.
Carlos Sanchez, 975 Post Rd., asked about the guarantees for the road construction on Dawes and Westland Roads.

Council Member Klos moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:20 p.m. This motion was supported by Council Member Sutton and carried unanimously.
