ADVERTISEMENT AND NOTICE TO BIDDERS

Sealed bids are sought and invited by the City of Poughkeepsie for Aeration Tank and Chlorine System Modifications, Bid No. 09-04-18as set forth in drawings and specifications prepared by City of Poughkeepsie Engineering Department.

Bids will be received by the Board of Contract and Supply, c/o Purchasing Agent, 62 Civic Center Plaza, P.O. Box 300, Poughkeepsie, New York 12602 until 11:00 a.m. November 17, 2004 after which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud in the third floor Common Council Chambers, with the contract being awarded as soon as practicable thereafter.

Work proposed under this contract is located at City of Poughkeepsie Water Pollution Control Plant at 173 Kittredge Place, Poughkeepsie, NY. This contract consists of demolition of six turbine aerators; installation of three blowers with accessories, a fine bubble aeration system and associated work.

Specifications and Contract are subject to provisions of Chapter 605, Laws of the State of New York of 1959, Section 103-A of the General Municipal Law.

Copies of the Bid Documents may be obtained from the City of Poughkeepsie Purchasing Agent, City Hall, First Floor, 62 Civic Center Plaza, P.O. Box 300, Poughkeepsie, New York12601 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. upon payment of $25.00 to partially cover the cost of duplication for each set of plans and specifications obtained on or after October 15, 2004. All payments shall be in the form of check or money order made payable to the City of Poughkeepsie and are non-refundable.

Each bidder must deposit with his/her bid, security in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid in the form of a certified check made payable to the City of Poughkeepsie or a bid bond subject to the conditions of this proposal.

The successful bidder shall be required to provide a Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond for 100% of the contract price, and a Maintenance Bond.

No bid will be accepted unless a signed Certification of Non-Collusion is submitted with the Bid.

The City of Poughkeepsie expressly reserves the right to waive any irregularities in or to accept any bid or to reject any and all bids or to award on any or all items as the interest of the City of Poughkeepsie may appear to require.
