City of Parkston Council Meeting, Tuesday, July 11th, 2017

REGULAR MEETING OF THE PARKSTON CITY COUNCILJULY 11TH 2017 IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBER OF THE CITY HALL IN THE CITY OF PARKSTON, SOUTH DAKOTA

Mayor Hoffman called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. and roll call noted the following council members present: Dale Hofer, Tim Semmler, Jeff Murtha, Charles McKean, Ken Henke, and Jack Puetz. Also in attendance: Mike Wolf, Corrinna Wagner, Ryan Murtha, Louis Hauser, and Ralph Thuringer.

Motion by Henke second by Hofer to approve the minutes of the June 11th regular meeting. All present voting aye. Motion carried.

Motion by Semmler, second by Murtha to approve claims as presented. All present voting aye. Motion carried

Motion by Hofer, seconded by Puetz to accept Louis Hauser replat. All present voting aye. Motion carried.

Motion by Murtha, seconded by McKean to approve variance 07-2017 brought forth by Ralph Thuringer. All present voting aye. Motion carried.

The Board of Adjustments will go back to City council at 7:10 p.m.

Motion by Hofer, seconded by Semmler to close the pool June 30th after the evening session. All present voting aye. Motion carried.

Motion by Murtha, seconded by Henke to approve Tony Wolf to asphalt his alley way. All present voting aye. Motion carried.

Motion by McKean, seconded by Murtha to pay Rodney Wentz the sum of $200 for use and rental of his tractor disc.All present voting aye. Motion carried.

Motion by Hofer, seconded by Semmler to put a yield sign on the north side of 4th and Teek Street. All present voting aye. Motion carried.

Motion by Murtha, seconded by Puetz to approve officer Lutjen and officer Antaya to attend Taser training in Mitchell. All present voting aye. Motion carried.

Motion by Murtha, seconded by Semmler to enter executive session at 9:12 p.m. all present voting aye. Motion carried.

Council exited executive session at 10:45 p.m.

Motion by Semmler, seconded by Hofer to hire Trista Friman part-time (as needed) at the library with a wage of $11.00/hour. All present voting aye. Motion carried

Motion by Semmler, seconded by Hofer to hire Nicole Junke as a part time librarian with a wage of $9.50/hour. All present voting aye. Motion carried.

Motion by Semmler, seconded by Murtha to accept the resignation of Tamara Maeschen from the library staff. All present voting aye. Motion carried.

Motion by McKean, seconded by Puetz to go back into executive session at 10:50 p.m. All present voting aye. Motion carried.

Council exited executive session at 10:55 p.m.

Motion by Murtha, seconded by Henke to adjourn the meeting at 10:56 p.m. All present voting aye. Motion carried.
