PLEDGE

The City Council meeting was opened with the pledge of allegiance led by Mayor Dearborn.

CALL TO ORDER

The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order at 7:00 PM on November 26, 2012 by Mayor Dearborn.

ROLL CALL

The following Aldermen were present for Roll Call: Alderman Steele, Bremer, Bumbalough and Bradford.

Also present were Mayor Dearborn, Treasurer Babb, Clerk Worent, Attorney Tibbs, Public Works Director Crum, Office Manager Minson, and Fire Chief Amundson.

Alderman Salazar, Alderman Hamilton, and Engineer Good were absent.

PRESENTATION OF JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS

Alderman Bremer made a motion, seconded by Alderman Bradford to approve the minutes of the Regular City Council meeting held on November 12, 2012. Roll Call Vote: Ayes – Alderman Bradford, Bumbalough, Bremer, and Steele. Nays - none. Motion passed.

CONFIRMATION AGENDA

None.

REPORTS OF CITY OFFICIALS

Mayor

Mayor Dearborn indicated he would be attending a free one-hour seminar on December 5, 2012 at Chase Bank. The seminar will address corruption in local government, and prevention. Council members wishing to attend are to let Mayor Dearborn know before he RSVP’s.

Clerk

No report from Treasurer Babb.

Attorney

No report from Attorney Tibbs

REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEE

Water and Sewer - Alderman Steele

Alderman Steele said there has been a pipe break at water plant. A replacement has been ordered, at a cost around $400.

Law Enforcement - Alderman Bremer

Alderman Bremer stated the October police report is on file at the city office. He also reminded Council that Officer McFall is attending the transition training in Belleville this week and next.

Streets - Alderman Bumbalough

No report from Alderman Bumbalough.

Parks and Public Buildings - Alderman Hamilton

Absent. No report from Alderman Hamilton.

Fire - Alderman Bradford

No report from Alderman Bradford.

Finance/Planning - Alderman Salazar

In Alderman Salazar’s absence, Alderman Bremer made a motion, seconded by Alderman Steele, to approve paying the bills: General Fund: $66,780.11, Water: $8,466.17, Sewer: $4,250.89. Roll Call Vote: Ayes – Alderman Bremer, Steele, Bumbalough, and Bradford. Nays - None. Motion Passed.

OLD BUSINESS

Alderman Bremer passed out information on the city’s “Parking on Private Property” ordinance. He was following up with some citizen complaints regarding residents parking in their yards.

CITIZENS WISHING TO ADDRESS THE COUNCIL

None.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS PERTAINING TO THE CITY

AFLAC Representatives Tasha McQueary and Lori Wallace gave a presentation regarding AFLAC availability to all Council Members. Brochures were left and Council was informed that Tasha and Lori would be at the City Office on Thursday, November 29th at 9:30 a.m., if anyone wanted additional information on their program.

ADJOURNMENT

Alderman Bradford made a motion, seconded by Alderman Steele to adjourn the regular City Council Meeting at 7:33 p.m. Voice Vote: All Ayes. Motion passed.
