2016 YOUNG LEADERS PROGRAM

The Young Leaders Program is for young people aged 16 – 25 years old who live, work or study in the City of Greater Dandenong. The program provides an opportunity for you to increase your participation in your local community, and to meet and work with like minded individuals.

There are two main parts to the Young Leaders Program:

Personal development – Throughout the program, you will focus on learning and developing your leadership skills such as project management, effective communicationincluding public speaking, conflict management, media and promotion, as well as a range of other topics.

Research and development of community projects – you will be supported to research the needs of young people in the community, and develop, plan and deliver community projects to address the issues and needs identified.

Working in a team to develop and deliver community projects, you will gain a better understanding of your personal leadership style and how it influences your decision making. You will learn how to become effective leaders in your own community or groups.
