CITY COUNCILMAN REGGIE BROWN MAY 3, 2018 MEDIA EVENT

TO ANNOUNCE AN UPCOMNG HEALTH EDUCATION

AND INFORMATION FORUM

On Thursday, May 3rd at 11:00 a.m., Jacksonville City Council Member Reggie Brown (District 10) will hold a media event at City Hall toannounce an upcomingHealth Education and Information Forum to be held on Saturday, May12thin the Jacksonville City Council Chamberat City Hall. That event, presented and facilitated by The Optimus Literacy Institute of America, Inc., will provide opportunities for the public to speak with Physicians, Professional Health Care Providers,including Educators and Veteran Administrators, and to hear presentations about a wide variety of health-related topics. Topics to be discussed will include mental health, physical and learning disabilities, Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 plans for students with disabilities,special needs and other health impairments, veterans’ health care issues, and more. Speakers will also include parents and health care advocates.Basic health and vision care screenings and reflexology treatments will be provided at the event.

Council Member Brown hopes that the media will publicize this event widely to inform and encourage citizens to attend this event. “Our health is top priority for everyone, and this Health Education and Information Forum will be a great opportunity to interact with and hear from a wide variety of medical professionals, educators, and others in many aspects of health and wellness and learn more about these important topics. I strongly encourage everyone to attend what I am sure will be a very informative and helpful event.”
