New Citibank/Czech Airlines Credit Card Offers Unique Benefits
Citibank a.s. and Czech Airlines will offer their joint credit card from the beginning of July. The new product will combine all the advantages of Citibank credit cards, including a high level of security, with membership of the OK Plus frequent flyer programme as every card holder will automatically become a member of this programme. Whenever cardholders use their card for everyday purchases, fly with Czech Airlines or other SkyTeam alliance carriers, or use the services of other non-airline partners of OK Plus, they will collect miles. Miles can then obtain bonus air tickets for destinations throughout the world and many other above-standard benefits that make travelling more pleasant anywhere in the world.
“Citibank wants to offer the best to its clients. We have therefore joined forces with Czech Airlines, recipient of the award for the Best Airline based in Central/Eastern Europe for the third time in 2006. The alliance of strong companies such as Czech Airlines and Citibank will bring their clients the advantages of international acceptance, above-standard security, and one of the broadest range of benefits and additional services on the Czech market,” said Bert Pijls, Citibank’s Country Business Manager.
Two variants of the Citi ČSA credit cards are on offer – the standard Classic credit card, and the Gold card intended for more discerning clients. Whenever they use their Classic credit card the holders will log one mile per CZK 100 spent; Gold cardholders will log two miles per CZK 100 spent. Moreover, cardholders will receive a welcome gift of up to 5,000 miles with the Classic card and up to 10,000 miles with the Gold card.
The new Citi ČSA credit cards maintain the same principle of membership as the OK Plus cards. They are issued in three variants: OK Plus Member, OK Plus Silver and OK Plus Gold, depending on the number of miles flown or the number of flights taken. To transfer to the Silver tier level 25,000 miles have to be logged with the SkyTeam alliance, for transfer to the Gold tier level 50,000 miles must be logged. The cardholder can then make use of a number of OK Plus advantages throughout the world, including for example priority check in, business class upgrades, access to lounges.
“Having launched our co-branded Citi ČSA credit cards we are accommodating the wishes of our loyal customers, who can now travel with only one card. This way they obtain a practical and prestigious payment card that also gives them all the advantages they have enjoyed so far with the separate OK Plus membership cards,” said Marie Macounová, Czech Airlines’ Marketing and Product Development Vice-President.
The Citibank credit card is one of the safest cards on the market, because it is the only card in the Czech Republic to have the cardholder’s photograph and signature on the front side. These cards also feature the longest interest-free period (55 days) and a broad range of additional services. Cardholders can take out a family travel insurance policy and an insurance policy covering inability to pay debt, sign a standing direct debit instruction, and use original services such as cash on call and purchase on credit.
