Citibank`s Internet Banking is Secure

Citibank uses the highest level of security available in the market.

Citibank a.s. uses the highest level of security of its communication channels, including the Internet Banking. In October 2006, Citibank enhanced the security of its Internetbanking through the employment of the authentication Security Key. This system provides additional protection against fraudulent attacks and is considered to be one of the best solutions on the market. It is impossible to use Citibank internetbanking without having an individual device registred for a customer.

"Security of clients is our upmost priority. All of our processes and technologies are being globally developed and assessed on a regular basis by independent security experts,“ said Bert Pijls, Business Manager of Citibank Retail Banking Division for the CR and Slovakia.

For the first ever registration into Citibank`s Internet Banking, the client inputs the card`s number and PIN code. This information serves only forthe initial identification and not for an active login into the system. "During Citibank`s 15-year presence in the Czech market, our customers have not had any financial losses occurred due to registration process and we believe that with new Security Key solution implementation we made our internetbanking even more secure," said Bert Pijls. In order to get direct access to his/her accounts, each client must choose his/her own User`s Name and Password plus a one-off code generated through the Security Key. Unless this security device is usedthe usage of Citibank`s internet banking is impossible.
