Stewards inquired into the reasons for WOZNIACKI breaking. After taking evidence from driver Brady Woods and viewing the films of the event it was established that the mare had made slight contact to the wheel of ODINS QUEEN HELA which caused the mare to break. Mr Woods was reprimanded under AR 168(1) for careless driving.

Stewards inquired into the reasons for ALWAYS A SHOW racing four wide into the home straight on the first occasion. After taking evidence from drivers Gareth Rattray (SAFETY GIRL) and Craig Hayes (ALWAYS A SHOW), acting on their own observations and viewing the official race replays Mr Rattray was found guilty of a charge under AR 163(1)(b) for causing another runner to cover more ground than necessary, the particulars being that after ALWAYS A SHOW had commenced to make a three wide run Mr Rattray then also elected to race three wide and as a result of his actions ALWAYS A SHOW was obliged to race four wide. Mr Rattray’s licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 2 race date and the beginning of his suspension was deferred until 21 December 2014, therefore commencing midnight 21 December 2014 and expiring midnight 28 December 2014.

Mr Howlett also stated that he was a regular driver of the gelding and that in his view the gelding is one paced and best suited when allowed to run along. When unable to get to the position outside the leader entering the back straight on the first occasion he then restrained to the rear of the field. Mr Howlett then elected, when the pace eased, to take the opportunity to move three wide and put the gelding into the race as he was of the view that driver Duncan Dornauf (REGAL IDEA), who was hanging back from the position outside the leader, may hand up that position. When unable to get to the position one outside the leader Mr Howlett then attempted to rate the gelding for the rest of the event. The gelding finished5th place, beaten 8.5 metres.
