Principal’s Summary:
We began the month of February with the completion of our Thinking Maps professional development. This new teaching tool is being utilized in every classroom at Anthem K-8. Our Master Teacher and Title I Teacher did an amazing job with introducing each map and how to use them in different grade levels and content areas. Our teachers were encouraged to take a picture of each thinking map that they use in their classroom. A large display has been set up outside of our library to showcase the different types of thinking maps and how they are being used in the classroom. We are excited to share with our parents during conferences.
We are ready for our Parent Teacher Conferences. We appreciate the opportunity to meet with each parent to discuss their student’s third quarter progress report. As we head towards spring testing, we will also discuss testing dates and resources that parents can review regarding the AzMERIT test. Conferences also are a great time to meet and pre-register our upcoming kindergarten students.
Our Anthem Green Team did their first broadcast this month. Students from several different grade levels broadcasted their presentation to the entire school. Their lesson focused on ways to conserve energy at school and home. We also had our new video class create a PSA on proper hallway expectations. The video is now part of our Anthem PRIDE expectation lessons that can be used to review proper hallway behavior. These two new classes at Anthem give our students the opportunity to excel in their learning and to help support the school.
Thank you for your continued support!
