Principal’s Summary:

The school is excited about receiving the statewide Most Improved Energy Conservation Award this year. We have been diligent about turning off extra lights and equipment whenever possible. We will receive our award at the Energy Star banquet at the Renaissance Hotel in Phoenix, March 19th!

Finally our Olympic Day is in sight. On March 10th our students will be participating in three Olympic trials. The students have been practicing everything from horseshoes to Suduko to relay races, preparing for their event. We appreciate the PBHS students coming over to help supervise.

This month the administration attended the Professional Learning Community summit and brought back many ideas on how to improve collaboration among teachers and staff, and how to improve student achievement through tiers of interventions. Some of these ideas will be put in place immediately, and others at the beginning of the next school year.

We are in the process of reviewing our benchmark data. The preliminary results look very good; showing evidence of mastery and growth in math, reading and writing. We are reviewing for the upcoming AIMS test in grades 3-8 at this time.
