January 2015

Dear Delegate

CIPS new rules applying to enrolmenton the CIPS exams by study centres

There have been changes to the enrolment procedure. We are required to submit all LMU entry exams by the deadline datesset by CIPS. – see below

We will continue to offer this valuable service BUT bear in mind that, from November 2014, the changes to the enrolment will mean that there is no ‘flexibility’ for late enrolments.

We will email you after each exam period, asking you to confirm that we hold the correct information on your forthcoming module(s) and exams.

This is particularly important if you have postponed/deferred or have to re-sit an exam.

Please note:

  • You wish to amend/change your exam date prior to CIPS deadlines: it will be your responsibility to advise us before the deadline dates.- (column 3 above).
  • You wish to amend/change your exam date post CIPS deadlines: You are able to change/postpone your exam entry up to 5 working after closure of exam entries/ deadline dates. Please contact us. If you ned clarification
  • You wish to either bring forward or postpone/defer an exam date: please contact and/or email us of the changes to your study plan so that we can advise your tutor, keep an accurate record of your progress to date and offer you guidance with enrolment on other exam periods.
  • For all deferral/postponement: please email us a medical certificate which we can pass on to CIPS so that your exam(s) can be deferred free of charge. Evidence must be provided no later than 10 working days after your exam date.

Failure to advise us of changes to your study plan will mean that the exam fee will be lost.

  • Reasonable adjustment requirements: CIPS also requests from their Study centres that all reasonable adjustment applications must be sent together with the group submission nominal rolls.

Therefore please ensure that you send us the completed form (s) and medical certificates in plenty of time to allow this to happen. CIPS will consider your needs, approve and accommodate special arrangements.

  • You failed to sit an examination(s): Should you be unable to attend the exam(s) you have enrolled for, you will be marked as absent and you will be charged the exam fee unless you have extenuating circumstances which will need to be agreed by CIPS.

If you have extenuating circumstances you will need to supply us with a letter from your work (if work related issue) or a medical certificate so that your exam can be deferred without you incurring additional fees.

Please contact us so that you can sit it at the earliest opportunity.

  • You have failed an examination and wish to re-sit it at the earliest opportunity: please contact us so that we discuss the options available to you.
  • We recommend that you check you're MY CIPS page regularly and ensure that you have been enrolled for the correct exams -
  • Any other issues, please refer to CIPS webpage:

If you have any questions on the content of this letter please contact either Jana or myself to discuss this further.

Kind regards
